IF YOU grew up with Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, INFAMOUS: Second Son, LEGO superheros/supervillians or PROTOTYPE, you will absolutely ADORE ExtraHuman. Taking the best parts of these legends and smushing them underwater.
This is the first fully 2nd person, family friendly, action-adventure game about a fishstick and his first friend Logen the shark/dog hybrid as he helps beat on fish mutants of varying sizes and find her missing parents in a vast opensea (get it, openworld pun ;))
(currently) This opensea spans 4x5x2km with 7 biomes and 25 districts all leaking into each other from seabed to beaches and beyond, creating constant opportunities to zip through an interconnected ecosystem. Slipstream across any surface by quickly swimming and skimming past them, then combine dashes, dives, tricking, gauze bubbles and a few of your water abilities together to build momentum while avoiding faceplants. All districts have their own identities, and every town environment defines its people. Discover, ignore and help Rifu pursue his dream of saving others, the way he wished he was while slowly unveiling the lore of centuries. Now quit reading and dive in, become... EXTRAHUMAN
Still reading? ok, outside of the metal stick that Rifu grabs from an old abandoned hammock, throughout the story Rifu (pronounced Reef) will discover he has adapted so well to life underwater (at least physically) that he can channel water through himself, weaponising the very space around him to use in 32 unique ways. And where other games stop at 1 or switch between a few quick select wheels, I’ve mapped 4 wheels to the 4 dpad buttons. Each wheel with 8 different abilities relating to a certain type; like water manipulation and tendr-wheel to grab, whip and throw giants by endgame. Although they will make you bury your head in the sand for a while, please don't suffocate them above water... It won't end well.
Now seriously, go try out the demo/latest playtest if you're not convinced yet.
