Hexplorando is a cozy 3D sandbox game that lets you discover and reinvent the real world, one hexagon at a time. As you place tiles of geography, natural resources, human settlements, and historical landmarks, you unveil the rich landscape of our planet: a relaxing experience that lets you create your ideal world.
Hexplorando represents the world with hexagonal tiles. A tile is composed of 6 slices, each with a specific terrain (sea, plain, hill, mountain…), prop (village, city, forest, crops, etc…) and water properties (river and lake): a powerful system that allows the creation of a large variety of beautiful landscapes, adapting automatically each tile to its neighbours in order to always have a smooth connection or transition between the two.
Special tiles are used to represent landmarks with custom-made 3D models that fit perfectly with the hexagonal tile system. Landmarks include the most iconic monuments in the world (Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Statue of Liberty, The Great Pyramid of Giza, Taj Mahal, Parthenon, Machu Picchu, Sagrada FamĂlia, etc…) as well as hidden gems, less renown but still wonderful natural or historical sites.
Sandbox Mode offers you the real Hexplorando experience, a free and relaxing gameplay that lets you create your ideal world. Procedural quests will support you in building amazing and unique landscapes using all the tiles you have previously unlocked.
The better you organize your creations, the more beautiful they are, the higher you score!
In each puzzle, you start with a set of tiles you can choose from. You can move and rotate them as you like, but a tile can only be placed where their borders match with the surrounding tiles, so if you don’t carefully plan your movements, you can put yourself against a corner.
As you find the right way to fit all the tiles, you will learn more about the landmarks you’re finding on the way, and unlock the neighboring puzzles to continue your “hexploration”.
