That Angel Is a Little Devil is a casual adventure visual novel set on PC. The story follows an ordinary young man who dies due to a divine mix-up and returns to life with an angel companion. In a quiet urban corner, he encounters a girl who blends angelic qualities with a touch of mischief, blending everyday routines with elements of fantasy and romance.
Gameplay
The experience centers on advancing through a fully illustrated narrative where every scene appears as a complete CG illustration rather than static sprites layered on backgrounds. Players click to progress the text, which is fully voiced in Japanese except for the protagonist. Choices made during key moments influence relationships with the heroines and steer the plot toward multiple conclusions in the final chapter.
Dead ends occur from certain selections, yet the game allows an immediate retry from the prior decision point. This structure keeps the focus on narrative exploration without complex controls or resource management. The all-ages version maintains a consistent tone across its branches.
Game Modes
The core play involves a single-player story mode with branching paths determined by player decisions. These paths lead to varied endings based on relationship developments with the available heroines. No separate competitive or multiplayer modes exist, as the title emphasizes solo narrative progression through its choice system.
An extended edition option preserves the original branching structure while incorporating additional scenes in some routes. The fundamental gameplay loop remains identical between versions, centered on reading, selecting, and reaching conclusions.
Story and Presentation
The narrative unfolds in a modern city setting where supernatural elements intersect with daily life. The protagonist's revival introduces the central angel figure, whose dual nature drives interactions and plot developments. Full CG artwork supports every scene, creating a cohesive visual style throughout the experience.
Voice acting enhances character delivery in the Japanese track, allowing players to follow the story through text and audio. The design prioritizes accessibility for casual play sessions, with straightforward clicking mechanics and quick recovery from unfavorable choices.
Is It Worth Playing?
This visual novel suits players who enjoy choice-driven stories with romance and light fantasy themes. The branching structure and retry feature support repeated playthroughs to uncover different endings without frustration. Availability on PC makes it straightforward to access once released.
With no user reviews available prior to launch, reception remains unconfirmed. Those drawn to all-ages visual novels or the premise of an angel with a mischievous side will find the described mechanics align with standard expectations for the genre. The adult extended edition appeals specifically to those seeking additional content in the same narrative framework.
