In the Blessed Arcnian Empire, order was upheld by blood, fear, and faith in the Twins — the Gods who descended to earth many centuries ago, bringing with Them the True Faith. Their followers outlawed magic, consigned other religions to oblivion, and divided the people into three Lots. From that moment on, every person’s fate was predetermined from birth: nobles rule, priests guide, and commoners suffer.
The True Faith has fractured. The Old and New Churches wage their own struggle. Countless sects are emerging. The people rise in ever more rebellions and reject the Lots, while conspirators weave their intrigues in the shadows. Magic, branded heresy for centuries and nearly eradicated, is breaking back into the world. The world will never be the same.
