“Verdant Requiem” is a scenario-driven SRPG that combines classic tactical gameplay with epic, war-chronicle-style scenarios, branching narratives, and a unique military management system.

This is not a story where good and evil are simply divided. Resources, faith, military power, and national ambitions—as the ideals and contradictions held by each nation clash, the protagonist Leonis and his companions are drawn into a battle for the balance of the continent.

The fate of this continent rests entirely on your choices.

Long-Form Scenario SRPG

This title is a long-form SRPG designed to offer over 40 hours of gameplay, including in-game time and free scenarios.

The story features branching paths, with each route taking approximately 12 to 17 hours to complete. Depending on the path you choose, the portrayal of nations, the positions of your allies, and the ending will all change.

In addition to the main scenario, free scenarios are also available, allowing you to enjoy the ensemble drama through flashback events told from each character’s perspective.

While there is no permanent character loss, penalties for injuries do exist. Rather than irreversible loss, we aimed to balance tension and playability by ensuring the results of battle remain within your army.

Classic Tactical System

The combat in this game emphasizes the tactical depth of classic SRPGs.

In addition to basic strategic elements like the rock-paper-scissors weapon system, special attacks, and skills, we’ve implemented a follow-up attack system triggered by flanking maneuvers based on positioning, as well as a combat skill system that leverages each character’s unique traits.

It’s not just about defeating enemies—it’s about deciding which unit to place where, who to have initiate the attack, and when to use combat skills. We aimed to create battles true to the SRPG genre, where every single decision changes the course of the battle.

A War-Themed Fantasy Focused on Story

“Verdant Requiem” is not your typical fantasy tale of good versus evil, but rather a war-themed story where the ideals and conspiracies of various nations intertwine.

At the heart of the story lies the balance among three nations: a nation rich in resources, a nation driven by faith, and a nation built on trade and scholarship. The circumstances each faces are far from simple, and even their adversaries have reasons they cannot compromise on.

While the story primarily follows Leonis as the protagonist, free scenarios and flashback events also shine a spotlight on his companions and figures from each nation. To ensure that no character is overshadowed, the number of ally units has been designed to be slightly smaller than in conventional SRPG titles.

In exchange, we place great emphasis on carefully depicting each character’s background, stance, and relationships.

Attention to Visual Presentation

To make the story and combat more memorable, we have put significant effort into the visual presentation.

During combat, we incorporate cut-in animations and combat skill effects, while in event scenes, we use weather effects, fog, lighting, and cinematographic techniques to convey the atmosphere of each moment. We’ve also incorporated simulated bloom, water reflections, and noise effects, paying close attention to the overall visual atmosphere despite the game being created with SRPG Studio.

Additionally, through character sprite blinking, sprite animations, modified assets, and the introduction of original sprites, we have strived to move away from the impression of default assets as much as possible and create a visual style unique to this title.

In particular, the UI incorporates certain visual effects that aim to link the story’s central theme of “balance” with the presentation of the game screen itself, creating an experience where the game system and the game world become one.

Unique Systems

In addition to the standard tactical map, this title implements several unique systems for managing your army.

Notable examples include Logistics Management, which handles salt, food, and minerals, and Attribute Balance, where the protagonist Leonis’s attributes and the army’s overall capabilities change based on the player’s actions.

Additionally, facilities and elements that support the army outside of combat, such as the Mobile Mess Hall and the Spell Mineral Research Lab, also make an appearance.

It’s not just about winning on the battlefield; how you use limited supplies, how you maintain your army, and the direction you lead it in—these decisions are also crucial elements of this game.

A Slightly More Complex Design, Including Resource Management

This game is not just a simple SRPG where you simply conquer maps.

In terms of military logistics, you’ll manage three resources: salt, food, and minerals. Additionally, the protagonist’s attributes change based on the player’s actions, affecting both allied units and the army as a whole.
