Ash is a dangerous place due to its constant climatic surprises. Just when it seems like you've managed to establish water production thanks to atmospheric probes, it sends its curses at you in the form of storms. Despite being a dead planet, Ash is full of mysteries, and the wandering star has peppered its depths with artifacts, which it has drawn to the surface for millions of years. Random comets, debris from distant planetary systems, and perhaps something else that's hard to come up with a rational explanation for.
