CYBERBIKES is an action adventure game set in a near-future world where a powerful syndicate known as the WTO controls major cities. Players take on the role of a lone operative riding a custom cyberbike equipped with advanced classified technology to challenge that control through targeted operations across real-world inspired urban environments.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on sorties that send the cyberbike into detailed segments of actual cities. These areas draw from OpenStreetMap data to create accurate layouts where players move freely without scripted paths or guidance systems. Objectives appear in key locations held by the WTO, and the player decides the order of completion while navigating streets, waterways, and skies filled with enemy forces.
Combat relies on the cyberbike's arsenal of ballistics, rockets, energy weapons, and explosives. Additional systems include advanced armor, shielding, a high-performance engine for extreme speeds, and optional modules such as hyperdrive or EMP effects. Loadouts can be adjusted before each sortie to suit different approaches, whether favoring speed, firepower, or defensive capabilities. Environmental hazards add further risk during travel and engagements.
Progression comes through Research Points collected during exploration. These points feed into upgrade trees that improve speed, agility, durability, and other attributes. Missions can be repeated as needed to gather more points, removing any progression barriers. The bike itself supports tuning for specific mission demands and allows selection of visual war paint options.
Game Modes
At launch the game includes eight sectors that vary in difficulty. Players can tackle most of them in any sequence, with no requirement to follow a fixed order. A separate VR Proving Ground serves as a dedicated practice area where the cyberbike and its systems can be tested without mission constraints.
Each sector functions as a self-contained operation zone. Within these zones the player identifies and prioritizes objectives while contending with patrolling enemy cyberbike groups, aerial bombers, naval cruisers, and other threats. The structure supports repeated visits to refine tactics or maximize research point gains.
Setting and Story
The narrative places the player as the resistance's primary asset against the WTO, a syndicate that seized control of global cities. Classified intelligence points to a potential WTO breakthrough in Antarctica, prompting urgent action to disrupt their operations. The cyberbike represents the last of its kind after failed attempts by the enemy to replicate its capabilities, forcing reliance on conventional and experimental countermeasures instead.
Enemy factions operate with distinct roles: ground-based gangs on cyberbikes, sky patrols by bombers, and water-based cruisers guarding rivers and oceans. These elements combine with natural environmental dangers to create layered opposition across the mapped city segments.
Is It Worth Playing?
CYBERBIKES suits players who prefer open-ended mission structures over linear campaigns. The ability to select objectives freely, repeat content for upgrades, and customize the bike for different challenges creates a flexible loop focused on urban vehicular combat and exploration. The VR Proving Ground provides a low-pressure space to master controls and loadouts before entering the main sectors.
Those who enjoy single-player experiences with strong emphasis on vehicle handling, weapon variety, and repeatable progression will find the systems align directly with those interests. The absence of hand-holding and the use of real city mapping add a layer of authenticity to the combat sorties. Availability on PC makes it accessible for those with compatible hardware interested in this style of action adventure gameplay.
