I Had a Friend is a first-person, single-player psychological horror game set in the unsettling atmosphere of an abandoned family house. You play as Richard, a foreign tech university student living in Germany. One night, as you drift off to sleep at your computer, your phone suddenly rings.
A message from your mother, Hannah, lights up the screen. She informs you that your father, Tom, has been in a serious accident and is now hospitalized. With no one else to care for the family cat, Felix, Hannah asks you to return home immediately.
Upon arriving at the empty house, with only Felix as your companion, you begin to feel a growing unease. Strange, unexplained noises echo through the halls, objects shift as if moved by it self, and Felix’s behavior grows increasingly erratic with each passing night.
What was supposed to be a simple visit quickly spirals into something far more unsettling. As the night unfolds, you must uncover the truth behind the strange happenings in the house, as reality begins to distort around you. What’s really going on in the shadows, and who — or what — is behind it all?
