The gateway is open. Nobody promised what's on the other side.
Lost Gateways is a co-op action RPG set in a procedurally generated open world built in rings, the farther you walk from the last safe town, the meaner everything gets.
There is no level scaled hand holding. Ring 5 does not care that you just got here.
DELVE. Every dungeon is generated whole: secret walls that crack under a good blade, fire plate traps you can lure brutes onto, flooded cisterns with things living in the water, a golden key hunted room by room and a boss at the bottom with a hoard. In the mountains, caverns wind to a boss chamber no map will show you. That's not a figure of speech: there is no minimap underground.
DIG. Paper treasure maps an actual hand-drawn square of the world with a red X. Match the coastline, feel the shovel tremble when you're close, and be ready when what's buried doesn't want to come up alone.
QUEST. Town boards post work: hunts, deliveries, defenses and multi-chapter sagas that send the whole server after a dark heart, a bronze casket, a frightened priest in a far town.
TOGETHER. Invite friends straight from the Steam overlay. Every chest rolls private loot for every player no ninja loots, play with that annoying friend who loots everything! no arguing. When someone pulls a Mythic, the whole server hears about it.
BECOME. Four ways in fighter, rogue, mage, cleric but souls aren't so easily labeled... level classes, stack character-wide talents, and build something the four base classes didn't plan for.
Chop the trees. Mine the heights. Fish the rivers. Raise the towns. Die somewhere interesting.
NOTE: This is a free to play game, there are certainly bugs its why I am not charging for it, please visit the subreddit if you want to report any or have suggestions.
NOTE2: Ai was used during development process including coding, some art, much art is human generated including the kaykit models.
