A group of girls continue their club activities in an abandoned church.
At the center of it all is a stuffed toy they call their âProphet.â
In contrast to the dim church, the girls spend their time together like a âreal family.â
The protagonist, Alexia, who was brought there against her will,
gradually realizesâdespite her confusionâthat this place, free from unpleasant adults, is âa better home than her own.â
Maybe what a lonely girl truly needs isnât ârightness,â
but a full stomach and friends she can laugh with.
As she learns that the others carry the same kind of loneliness,
she finds connection in sharing the same pain.
Forgetting the misery of her life at home, she becomes absorbed in her days with the group.
But at the end of those peaceful summer days,
a terrible fate awaits.
