Terrors of War mixes classic base building with experimental tech, bio horror and big, explosive battles that can mutate into outright nightmares if you push too far.

Early Access focuses on single player skirmishes and handcrafted Operations against AI. Over time those Operations grow into a full campaign that spans 1944 to 1957 and ends in a desperate assault on a super reactor buried in a frozen landscape.

Build the War Machine: Supply Lines and Nodes

Terrors of War is built around a supply line economy instead of simple trickle income. If the trucks stop, the war stops.

• Capture universal resource Nodes that boost income and increase your population cap.
  
• Run vulnerable supply vehicles between fields, caches and depots. If your convoys die, your war machine stalls.
  
• Specialise Nodes into Economy, Vision or Defense:
  
  • Economy makes more income and raises population cap
    
  • Vision reveals pockets of fog of war and warns about flanking forces
    
  • Defense creates tougher garrisons and stronger local defences
• Fight over rail yards, farms, derricks, docks and secret labs. Each map has a fixed number of Nodes so you must expand, raid and cut enemy logistics instead of turtling forever.

Every truck you lose and every Node you let slip can flip the entire battle.

High Impact Combat and Superweapons

This is not a slow siege simulator. Battles hit hard and escalate quickly.

• Command large combined arms forces of infantry, tanks, artillery and support vehicles in classic top down RTS fashion.
  
• Use cover and garrisons to hold key chokepoints from factory catwalks to alpine bunkers and ruined city streets.
  
• Unlock and deploy a terrifying experimental arsenal:

Planned Story Campaign: 1944 to 1957

The long term goal is a campaign that tracks the secret war behind WW2 and the early Cold War, told through multiple perspectives.

• US OSS forces: Follow a covert task force from early raids on V2 facilities through farm country, industrial heartlands and frozen seas to the edge of the world.
  
• Die Schatten: Step into the boots of the Nazi shadow program and use experimental reactors, clone vats and occult adjacent science to stave off collapse.
  
• Cold War currents: See how Soviet rivals and key defectors twist the conflict with uneasy joint operations, quarantined cities and a three way showdown where trust or betrayal changes the final battle.

Expect a mix of mission types.

• Classic base building conquests across rolling hills, fjords and nitrate fields
  
• Outlier set pieces such as naval boarding puzzles on secret weapon convoys, frozen low resource maps with dangerous vents and canal flood defences
  
• A pure commando style stealth raid behind enemy lines
  
• Horror tinted operations with plague like mutators in ruined cities, infected districts that you must burn block by block, clone hordes spilling from vats and core nodes that pulse under frozen ice

Your choices, especially how you handle uneasy alliances and certain moral tests, will echo into late missions by adjusting voiceover, reinforcements, sabotage and final battle conditions.

A Solo Dev, But Not a Solo War

Terrors of War is created by a single developer but it is not meant to be a solo experience in spirit.

• Discord and forums let you help set priorities whether you want more horror, more grounded WW2, more Operations or a faster march toward the full campaign.
  
• Frequent balance updates and content experiments during Early Access. If a system is not fun it can change.
