Dungeon Cleared! is a strategy indie game on PC that recreates the core loop of old-school dungeon crawlers through exploration, combat, and tactical choices in compact play sessions. Players build a party of four heroes drawn from seven classes and navigate procedurally generated dungeons across three distinct campaigns set beneath the village of Valdombra.
Gameplay
The game emphasizes straightforward rules that reward careful planning. Heroes move and act in any order chosen by the player each turn, allowing combinations of movement, attacks, spells, potions, and class abilities within the same activation. Positioning matters because doors, walls, and obstacles block movement and line of sight, while fog of war conceals the contents of the next room until entered.
Each of the seven classes brings unique stats, movement ranges, equipment, spells, or special powers. The Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling alter how a party handles encounters, so composition directly influences room-clearing strategies. After every dungeon the party levels from 1 to 10, unlocking permanent upgrades, new items, higher spell tiers, and extra slots that let players refine abilities over the course of a campaign.
Procedural generation creates fresh maps, traps, obstacles, and enemy placements for each seed. The system stays readable at a glance, avoiding layered mechanics in favor of immediate tactical problems. Higher difficulty settings increase enemy aggression and change target priorities without adding new systems to track.
Game Modes
Three full campaigns each contain ten dungeons. The first campaign sends the party into the depths beneath Valdombra in search of Solar Seal fragments while the Rift endangers the village above. The Court of Frost campaign places heroes in a frozen realm filled with ice creatures and cold-based threats. The Garden of Spores campaign features twisted natural environments and altered flora and fauna. Each campaign includes its own enemies, obstacles, and bosses, with a major encounter at dungeon five and a final boss at dungeon ten.
One-shot mode lets players select any party, difficulty setting, and seed to run a complete level 1 to 10 experience without committing to a campaign. Four difficulty options-Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hardcore-scale the challenge for testing new compositions or pushing established parties.
Core Loop and Progression
Every session revolves around entering a dungeon, clearing rooms through movement and action combinations, and surviving until the exit. Short play windows remain viable because the rules stay simple yet the outcomes of order, positioning, and timing decisions carry real weight. Between dungeons the party grows stronger through chosen upgrades, shaping long-term development around the player's preferred play style.
Procedural elements ensure repeated runs feel distinct even within the same campaign or one-shot seed. Enemy behavior shifts with difficulty, forcing adjustments in approach without requiring mastery of additional systems.
Is It Worth Playing?
Dungeon Cleared! suits players who enjoy tactical strategy games that fit into brief sessions while still demanding thoughtful decisions. The combination of party building, turn-order flexibility, and procedural layouts delivers consistent variety across the three campaigns and one-shot option. Those who prefer games where small choices in movement and activation order determine success will find the mechanics rewarding. The absence of dialogue or extended story keeps focus on exploration and combat, making it a direct fit for fans of classic dungeon-crawling strategy on PC.
