You are Giacomo, a former mercenary officer embroiled in a conflict of wealthy city-states.
You once again gather your condottieri squad and play a key role in the fast-paced war. But little did you know about mysterious forces behind your enemies! Very soon you will have to decide the fate of the world.
The Duelist: Sanaculus is a turn-based tactical RPG in dark fantasy setting about a squad of practiced mercenaries. You gradually build your squad, training and equipping each member. Heroes have unique abilities and use weapons of different kinds.
The core gameplay of The Duelist includes the land exploration, tactical combats, obtaining trophies and their further use for future fights. The ultimate goal is tied to the game plot, however you can go sidequesting if you want to.
In addition to squad combat, there is the duel mode - sometimes you will have to challenge an enemy officer, or defend against a hired killer!

Heroes begin their journey near a city-state called Porta Terra at the mouth of a great river. During the game, the player explores the surrounding lands, cities and settlements, performing tasks for the local ruler.
The land has a lot of dungeons, dangerous places and wandering gangs of robbers. You explore the land in 3D mode and also use a detailed paper map of the region.
The past and present of the squad members are combined in the central plot and reveal both the spirit of the heroes and their stories. Some of them had long been brothers in arms, others joined later.
