From the cute and spooky pages of The Inscrutable Doctor Baer graphic novel, named "...easily one of the best graphic novels of [2024] ⭐," by School Library Journal! In this co-op game you will unravel mysteries of creatures and lands both familiar and new to readers.
Explore the Crags of Everlasting Ice and uncover the tragic history of its fallen civilization. Beware the suffocating stillness of the Gray Marshes and Gray Swamp--there are lurking menaces hidden in the silence. Plumb the depths of the Ocean of Monsters and unlock the puzzle of the baleful beings in the deep. But there's a darker place still. Among the razor-sharp stones of the Obsidian Caves you'll confront an ancient malevolence, the name of whom one hardly dares whisper.
Need a break? Return to Doctor Baer's home to chat with the cheerful spirits and creatures he's healed during his many adventures. They might have insights to help you on your journeys--and they'll have some healing cups of tea.
Talk or fight
Each zone has creatures and environments Doctor Baer and the Wisps can face with full force attacks, clever conversation, and insightful item puzzles.
Here are just a few of the creatures you'll meet:
The adorable Mummy Mice have a fierce bite. What cynical magics have turned them against you?
The joyful Fire Skeletons have become ferocious beasts. How can you tame their fiames?
Living Mulches, ravenous piles of sentient rot, will try to devour you. Do you stand your ground and fight, or is there another way to sate their hunger?
Learn the lore
Explore the zones and talk with quirky locals to uncover lore that will help you solve conflicts. These hints will not only help you complete the game, but will provide a rich exploration of the fantasy world of Doctor Baer. Written by The Inscrutable Doctor Baer author Jerzy Drozd, game's story is a canonical chapter in the graphic novel series.
Become Doctor Baer and the Wisps
Jump into the world of the graphic novels and use the agility and mystical staff arts of Doctor Baer. Wield the life magic of Green Wisp. Protect yourself with the heat powers of Orange Wisp. Slow time with the Blue Wisp. Reconnoiter with the speedy Violet Wisp.
Be Wary of Consequences
Are you facing a foe or a potential friend? Learning about the creatures you encounter might lead to unexpected alliances and power-ups? Using indiscriminate force may lead to losing contact with your friends and change the story's outcome.
Like the graphic novels, The Case of the Cursed Kierunki is a narrative meditation on the role of power and force. Hit start to enter a world of joyful fantasy, and consider the consequences of your actions.
Human-Made, Hand-Drawn
All of the art and story in the game is created by Jerzy Drozd, author of The Inscrutable Doctor Baer series, and the game design is by Rob Stenzinger, creator of Word Turtle Island. Prepare yourself for an immersive experience of the world of the graphic novels where you determine the story's ending.
