C3 Nightfall is a third-person action adventure game for PC in which players defend a kingdom from monsters emerging through a portal opened by a rogue wizard. The experience revolves around nightly cycles of exploration, item crafting, and combat against waves of creatures drawn from another realm.
Gameplay
Players control a warrior who moves across castle grounds to gather relics that fall from a comet cloud each night. These relics serve as building blocks for weapons and abilities. Different combinations produce effects such as fire-infused swords, magical orbs, wizard staffs, and elemental attacks. Once equipped, these creations are tested in fast-paced third-person combat that mixes melee strikes with ranged options and magical abilities against undead soldiers, mummies, giant spiders, trolls, and dragons. Defeated monsters release cosmic crystals, which players collect to advance the goal of sealing the portal. The loop repeats across successive nights that grow more challenging as the story unfolds.
Game Modes
The game presents a single continuous experience built around nightly defense sequences. Each night begins with relic collection on the castle grounds, followed by wave-based combat against arriving monsters. There are no separate named modes; progression comes from refining weapon combinations, harvesting more crystals, and facing tougher enemy groups as the night deepens. The structure supports repeated play sessions focused on improving arsenal effectiveness and uncovering additional story details through encounters with the Hand of the King and the Princess.
Story and Setting
Twenty years prior, royal wizard Lazaar tried to harness comet power to open a portal to another world. The attempt created a persistent cloud that rains relics and releases monsters into the kingdom. Monsters carry cosmic crystals needed to close the portal permanently. Lazaar, blamed for the disaster, now commands the portal from within the cloud and seeks to expel the kingdom's inhabitants from the castle. The King assigns the player the task of reclaiming the grounds. Guidance comes from the Hand of the King, while the Princess shares knowledge about the relics and creatures. Encounters gradually reveal more about the original spell and its consequences.
