Echoes of Agony is a dark turn-based roguelite where you are hunted by your own inner demons. Master the dynamic turn economy, collect loot and push your limits. The more you suffer, the greater the rewards. How much are you willing to endure in the pursuit of power?
Inspired by "Path of Exile : Delirium", "Quasimorph" and "Darkest Dungeon", Echoes of Agony is a challenging experience where you have to live with the consequences of your own greed or cowardice. Push too hard, and you risk failing, losing progress. Don't push hard enough, and you risk being too weak to face the challenges ahead.
DYNAMIC TURN ORDER / ACTION ECONOMY
Forget "One action per turn". Turn Order and Action Economy are dynamic, based on Stamina usage.Â
Stamina regenerates outside of turns. When your Stamina is full, it’s your turn -> This pauses all Stamina regeneration
Perform actions as long as you have Stamina. End your turn at any point -> This resumes all Stamina regeneration
If you spend less Stamina, your next turn comes sooner
If you spend more Stamina, your next turn comes later
GREED IS THE DIFFICULTY SLIDER
As you accumulate Echoes, stronger enemies spawn, and gain damage multipliers.
Characters gain Agony when they fail actions. Agony reduces their stats, but multiplies drop rates.
Reduce your Agony, Tactically outwit your enemies, or just Overwhelm them once you gain more Power.
CHOOSE YOUR RISK, REAP THE REWARDS
Choose from a list of premade Levels when progressing. Do you want easy layouts, or easy modifiers?
Extract your Echoes at the mid-point of Levels, if you please. But you are taxed for your cowardice.
Clear the Level to keep all of your hard earned Echoes, But the more you hold, the heavier the burden.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER, GAIN ENDLESS POWER
Trade and Respec your character with an NPC between Levels.
Enchant your gear with affixes that scale in cost as they scale in power. Disenchant unwanted items for Echoes.
Or roll the dice, and try your luck at dropping the perfect items for your Character.
